Please ensure your card balance is sufficient to cover any applicable fees and exchange rate fluctuations.

5. Transaction Dispute Handling

5.1 Filing Guidelines

  • 3DS-verified transactions: If a transaction has already passed 3DS verification (whether with or without user interaction), the likelihood of a successful dispute is extremely low. We recommend assessing the verification status of the transaction before filing a dispute, to avoid submitting an invalid claim.

  • Standard filing window: Typically 120 to 180 days after the transaction date. The exact deadline depends on the actual transaction channel and will be further confirmed by the issuing bank.

  • Best time to file: For suspected unauthorized transactions, it's recommended to file within 1–2 days before the bank's settlement, which tends to result in a higher success rate.

5.2 Processing Fee

Each dispute case incurs a processing fee of approximately USD 30–45. This fee covers the bank's processing cost and is generally non-refundable.

If a fee refund occurs due to a specific issuing bank's policy (for example, when a dispute is closed early because the transaction had already passed 3DS verification), the system will process the refund automatically — no additional application is needed.

5.3 Documentation Required for Filing

To help us process your dispute efficiently, please prepare the following documents in advance (not limited to the items below):

  • Registered email address and account name

  • Original transaction ID, disputed amount, and currency

  • Full card number

  • Specific reason for the dispute, with a detailed description

  • Complete screenshots of your communication with the merchant

  • Any other supporting documentation that helps clarify the facts

Important: The above rules, requirements, timelines, and fees may be updated on an ongoing basis based on card network and issuing bank policies. Please refer to the most current requirements provided by our support team.

WasabiCard offers cashback programs tailored to each card type, which may be adjusted from time to time based on market conditions.
